The South Korean government seeks to issue blockchain-enabled COVID-19 ?vaccine
passports? to immunized citizens In order to revive cross-border travel and keep
infection risks under control.

Reuters have reported a statement by Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun:

?The introduction of a vaccine passport or ?Green Pass? will only allow those
who have been vaccinated to experience the recovery to their daily lives.?

The administration plans to issue a digital certification system powered by
blockchain technology to verify an individual?s coronavirus vaccination status
using a smartphone application from this month. Furthermore, the Prime Minster
added that the vaccine passport will be instrumental in enabling people to
experience a sense of return to normalcy.

Chung also acknowledge that by blockchain technology the system?s security will
be boosted which will result in identity theft being eradicated and transparency
enhanced.

The vaccine that is developed by BioNTech and Pfizer in South Korea has been on
the rollout for the senior citizens i.e., 75 years and above getting first
priority.

Last Year during October South Korean hospitals are planning to ushering new
healthcare era 4.0 technology with the use of blockchain, AI and big data.

The blockchain technology will be used to upgrade medical records boosting the
realization of data-centric hospitals. The collection of data is to be done
using biosensors and digital neural networks for smart medical centers.

This will usher in a new era of technology uses on the healthcare system of the
country.
