Yeah, you read it right.SanDiskhas actually launched a USB Type-C pen drive with
a capacity of up to 1GB. The pen drive will shame all those clunky hard drives
you have and is also indicative of just how far we?ve come with respect to
storage solutions. The drive was announced at?CES?earlier this year alongside a
portable 8TB SSD drive.

Officially named the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C Pendrive (no
kidding), the mouthful name seems to be symbolic to the cognomens attached
before names (cue Daenerys Targaryen). Name aside, the SanDisk pendrive is a USB
Gen 3.1 drive that offers a read speed of up to 150MB/s.

What makes the pendrive suitable for both computers and phones is its 2-in-1
swivel design. While the Type-C port helps it connect to most modern-day
smartphones, the USB Type-A port on the other end makes it easier to connect it
to laptops that still haven?t ditched all USB Type-A ports in favour of Type-C

Hence, the pendrive is compatible with Android, Windows and Mac and is available
in plenty of storage variants: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, While
the 32GB costs a digestible INR 849, the 1TB variant costs as much as a
modern-day budget smartphone.

AtINR 13,529 [], the SanDisk 1TB pendrive is definitely
expensive when you consider that there are much more affordable hard drives that
offer more capacity as well. But it all comes down to just how portable the
SanDisk pen drive is. While a hard drive might take up an entire pocket and not
work with a phone, the SanDisk drive will easily fit in a watch pocket and will
be ready to be used with a myriad of devices right from go.

The SanDisk 1TB pendrive is going on sale on Amazon from July 4 but you can
already place pre-orders. If you place an order right now, you can also avail a
discount of INR 650. The drive comes with 5 years limited warranty and support
for SanDisk?s Memory Zone application for Android.
