Up until the end of 2019,?Realme?has relatively been known as a smartphone
company, and the fastest-growing at that. Now, Realme thinks it?s the right time
for it to spread its roots and get head-first into expanding its product
portfolio. The approach that Realme is taking is what it calls the?1+4+N?
product strategywhich will see the company launching products like high-end TVs,
smartphones, sweeping machines, smart cameras, and smart earphones (whatever
that means) in the coming months.

The1 in the ?1+4+N? approachstands for its core product portfolio: smartphones.
Realme says it will continue being the core focus for the company and will also
be the centre of Realme?s AIOT ecosystem with the help of the Realme Link
application.

The4 in the ?1+4+N? product strategystands for 4 sub-categories, namely: Smart
TV, Smart Earphone, Smart Watch and Smart Speaker. While we?ve already seen
Realme launch products under the first three categories, we?re yet to see a
smart speaker from Realme. Although, a recent teaser has us believe that it
won?t be too long before we see the product launch.

Lastly, the?N? in the ?1+4+N? product strategystands for the rest of the
products it aims to deliver in the coming months. This not only includes
accessories like in-car charger and power banks but also smart home gadgets such
as smart locks, sweeping machine, electric toothbrush, smart camera, and smart
scale amongst other such products.

It?s quite clear that with this new ?1+4+N? product strategy, Realme aims to
lock horns with its arch-rival Xiaomi that has also made considerable efforts in
the last year to expands its ecosystem in India. We saw Xiaomi launch products
such as?robot vacuum,?electric toothbrush, and smart bulb amongst others.
