[https://in.mashable.com/tech/12698/microsoft-introduces-new-microsoft-365-plans-family-safety-app-and-teams-for-consumers] is now available as part of a limited preview. The preview is available on both
Android and iOS platforms, with users being able to register using their
existing Microsoft family groups or creating a new one.
The Family Safety app is a platform where members of the family group can keep
track of each other digitally and in real life. The app has a map with which
users can check on their family members with the help of location-sharing. Users
can even save frequently visited places, like work, school and home on the map.
It is mostly meant for parents to keep a track of where their children are at
all times. It can also be used by families who live apart, in an effort to be
aware of and stay connected with each other.
Additionally, the Family Safety app also gives parents more control over their
kids? digital activity. The app can share data with users related to statistics
such as screen time, top websites visited and even most searched terms in an
email. Parents can even set search filters and block mature content on devices
used by their children. They can even opt-in to be notified when their children
try to download an app/game that is not rated for their age.
Parents can even limit screen time for their children across all Microsoft
platforms ? from PC to Xbox. The screen times can be set for every individual
app/game to allow uninterrupted access when needed, like attending an online
class and screen time set for an app/game will be applicable across all
platforms, Windows PC, Xbox, and Android collectively. So, three hours of
Minecraft means, three hours across all platforms.
The app seems to be for parents who want better control over their children?s
virtual presence. Microsoft promotes transparency and balance in itsblog

Also, all members of the family group will have access to the data, so children
will also be able to see their activity reports. Members can even manage who has
access to their data and information. The app will also receive more features
